FORT ERIE STAKES ANNOUNCED. Four to Be Decided at July Meeting and Three in August — All Values Increased. Buffalo. N. Y., April 17.— Stake blanks for the two meetings at Fort Erie, under the auspices of the Niagara Racing Association, have been issued by John II. Madlgln president of the association. The first meting will open July 4. and the second, or fall meeting, starts on August 4, both to lie the usual seven-day affairs. The blanks were uiaimt to the horsemen yesterday. _S There are seven stake races listed, the blSBWR containing the information as to the conditions, etc. Four of the seven will be decided in the first meeting and the other three in the August meeting. Entries to all seven done Monday. May II. Tin- program calls for an outlay of 0,001 in added money, which, of course, means that the .ui ous events will be much richer than the amounts named. The big event; are the Canadian Derby, now with .,000 added, and the Dominion Handicap, with ,000 .idled.. Past year the added money for the Derby was ,500 and the Dominion Handicap St.lMMl. Other increases are noted in the plans of the as sedation. It has been intimated in Canada that parliament might curtail racing to the extent of allowing but one track to operate in each province. This would do away with Fort Eric.
