MONTREAL -OWNED HORSES WORKING WELL. Trainer Allan Bulcroft Has a Likely String in Training at Blue Bonnets. Moiitro.il. Que.. April 17. — Allan Bulcroft. who trains a public stable, lias ■ promising looking liainl in training at Mm Rennets track this spring. There arc ■ half dozen in the string. three of which arc owned liy Rnlcroft. two by Norman Macfarlanc . and MK hy Dr. liarlcs McE.-icliran. The three owned l.y P.ulcroft include Silk Bird, which was purchased h in the Hon. apt. W. .T. Shauglmessy a year ro. This liorse is by Oisenu — Silk Hose, which was ■purchased several years ago for the Shauglmessy stable. Silk I.ird has already shown that be is a rice liorse. having started in the Seagram Cup at Toronto, in which race be ran second. He lias developed into a fine-looking four-year-old and is now getting road weak. Froissart is another in the stable which has wintered we!!. He was bred by .Joseph K. Seagram «t Waterloo and is by Havee, tie- sire of the great lnf-mc The two owned by Norman Macfarlanc are T.ady Spendthrift and The Spirit. The former is a Canadian-bred and won a number of races last year. Mm lias taken on much weight and never looked better than she does this spring. The Spirit, which i •• an American-bred horse, lias aba improved over !cr last years condition, and siiould show good f«m next summer. These horses have wintered well and are not far from being put to more strenuous week thai cantering. The Lost Rird is the one owned by Dr. McEaoh-ran. This filly ran second in the Provincial Nursery last autumn and has grown into a handsome three-year -old. She i- an eligible foe the Kings Plate this year and will be point-d for that race. ll r most dangerous rival is Java to, which filly beat her in the Nursery.
