RACING RECORD OF FREE LANCE. Free Lance, George J. Longs Latonia Derby winner of 1012. and premier stallion of P.ashford Manor Stud, which was killed last Sunday in a fight with Ralph, another and younger stallion owned by Mr. Long, had a brief but brilliant career on the turf. As a two-year-old Free Lance started in sixteen races, in four of which he was victorious. He showed dazzling speed and an ability to run on any kind of a track. However, it was as a three-year-old that Free Lance achieved his greatest success, when he won the Latonia Derby, defeating such stars of the turf as The Manager, Worth, Manager Mack and Sprite, winning by six lengths and running the mile and a half in 2:31. pulling up. He only took yurt in six races as a three-year-old. winning four of them and retiring for the year the acknowledged champion of his age.
