EDWARD KANE PASSES AWAY. Manager of August Belmonts Nursery Stud in Kentucky for Thirty Year is Dead. Lexington, Ky.. May 28. — Edward Kane, manager of the Nursery Stud, and for 39 years in the employ of August Belmont. Chairman of the Jockey Club, and his father, died at his residence on the Belmont farm near this city at 8 oclock Sunday morning, the result of intestinal trouble from which he had been a sufferer for more than IS months. Mr. Kane was born in New York City, was 59 years of age, and is survived by a widow, two sons, Kenneth and Alfred, and two daughters, Mrs. C. ; W. Wolverton and Frances Kane. Mr. Kane was for nine years in the employ of the elder Belmont at his Babylon establishment on Long Island. After the death of his father, August 1 Belmont established the now famous Nursery Stud ■ here on the Georgetown road and placed Edward , Kane at the head of it ami he has served here faithfully for thirty years.
