ROAMER IN WINNING FORM TAKES THE EXCELSIOR HANDICAP AT JAMAICA FROM A STAR BAND. Borrow Finishes Second Again and Old Kocnig Third, with The Finn a Poor Fourth— Green Gold Wins the Greenfield Stakes. The Miller crack, alter making Sortie quit, was taken back on the fir turn, when Bytae shot Old Kocnig to the front and. making his challenge in the stretch, drew out at the end. Borrow, w.ll up throughout, was closing up ground on the leader at th id. The Finn. II. C. Halleiibecks black star, showed anode r disatmoiatiag performance and today he had ii" Mishaps. Fourth was his position at the end. with Slromboli a close fifth. The latter pulled up lame agaia and it seems improbable he will be raced in the near future. John Loflus. who rode Liliorty Loan to victory in the Eataiia Derby, returned this morning, as did J. W. May. who saddled the Macomber colt in the big ra.e. Tbesieres pulled up lame following the running of the second race. The Breeding Bureaus stallion Shot Gun. by Artillery Princess Noyetti, which has been located at Major Wadsv.orths estate at Genesco, N. Y, is dead. John E. Madden, has donated ten per cent of his winnings during the Belmont Park meeting to th" Nassau County Red Cross. This amounted to S800. He will continue this practice at the presept meeting and the Red Cross Association in the different counties where racing is conducted will the Why benefit for the remainder of the New York season. Congressman Loft and his wife journeyed to the Jamaica track for the express purpose of witnessing the performance of Papp in the final race. Mrs. A. O.
