CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. P. L. Short has disposed of the plater Star Bird to G. H. Browne for 200 at private sale. Jockey J. Ryan rode three winners at Dufferin Park Saturday, the opening day of the second meeting of the Metropolitan Racing Association. Jockey J. Acton resumed riding at Dufferin Park Saturday after an absence of several months from the; saddle serving a suspension for rough riding at Juarez. Trainer McDaniels yesterday shipped the G. H. Browne stable from Mount Royal Park. Montreal, to New York. The Browne horses will be campaigned over the metropolitan courses. 3ftr. A. Parsons, who is new to the cross-country spott, has put a number of imported English jumpers into the hands of Silas Vcitcli. His colors will be blue, white sleeves, gold stripes and gold cap. George D. Wideners three-year-old filly, Farce, by Rlre aur Larmes Armenia, dam of the late H. B. Duryeas Derby winner. Durbar II., has bowed a tendon and has been retired to Mr. Wideners breeding farm to go into the stud.
