, RACING AT TORONTO HALF-MILERS OVER. Toronto, Out., July 18. The racing at Hillcrest Park yesterday afternoon marked the close of the Toronto Driving Clubs summer meeting, and incidentally the last half-mile session in this vicinity. The suspension of jockey J. Deavcnport, who has been on the ground for ten days for rough riding, was lifted yesterday and he resumed riding. An action over the race horse Evelina has been entered at Osgoode Hall by Delle E. Wishard, of .Franklin, Ind., against the Toronto Driving Club and W. 11. Norvell. Tho claim is alleged breach of contract arising out of a claim made for the mare by Mr. Wishard on Friday, but was disallowed by the judges. Mr. Wishard failed to satisfy the officials that the mare Kyle, by which lie was represented in the race, was his property.
