INCREASED ATTENDANCE AT DONGAN HILLS. New Y.ork, August 2. A much larger crowd was present at the second days racing of the Staten Island Agricultural Societys race meeting today. The backers of favorites also fared better, the first three favorites being returned winners. Eddie Taplin was among the arrivals and rode the first two winners. In the fourth race, jockey D. Hoffman, on Nonesuch, resorted to unfair tactics when lie grabbed the bridal of Searpia II. as that horse ranged alongside of him in the backstretch. Nonesuch finished first, but was immediately disqualified- Hoffman was set down for the meeting and his ease referred to the Jockey Club.
