ANSWERS TO QUERIES. R. E. D., Chicago, 111. Only by writing to the secretary of the Western India Turf Club at Bombay, India. N. J. L,-, New Orleans, La. When one backs a single horse of a coupled entry, the matter is decided by the running of that horse. 1C. G. W., Chicago, 111. If on July 25 one had made a place parlay on the J. T. Looney entry and Pullux, specifically naming Intone and The Grader as the Looney entry, it would have been void as to the entry, because naming the horse would have been equivalent to a stipulation that Intone should run as a member of the entry, and would have won as a single place bet on Pullux.
