RECENT NEW ZEALAND WINNERS. Desert Gold, the champion mare of New Zealand, won the Challenge Stakes of ,000 at the Canterbury Jockey "Clubs Easter meeting, beating the Melbourne Cup winner Sasanof and two others. On the same day the Australian Jockey Club Derby winner Kilboy, won the Great Autumn Handicap of ,000. During the meeting Sasanof ran another second, this time in the Great Easter Handicap of ,000.
