BIG PRICES FOR McDOWELL YEARLINGS Thirteen Youngsters from Ashland Stud Sell for ?29,150 Sales Well Attended. By J. Ii. Dempsey. Saratoga, N. Y., August 7. Todays paddock sale of yearlings, the property of C. W. Moore, Thos. C. McDowell, Capt. P. M. Walker, T. 31. Murphy and A. L. Aste, aggregating thirty-four head, was attended by an immense gathering. The results obtained were the best of the local season, bidding being spirited and purchasers numerous. The consignment of thirteen youngsters owned by T. C. McDowell brought extremely gratifying amounts, the band selling for ji total of 9,150. The star of this collection, a chestnut colt by The Manager Lucy Locket, going to S. D. Riddle, master of the Glen Riddle Farm, on his bid of ,000. W. W. Jeffords paid a like amount for the colt by Tod-dington Understudy. The seven youngsters offered by T. M. Murphy of the Waldreck Farm totaled ,850. The six head that A. L. Aste offered brought ,300, the colt by Sweep Raiment bringing ,500. The pair that Capt. Walker disposed of brought ,500. C. W. Moores six head totaled ,550, the filly by McGee Josie L. that J. W. May gave ,800 for being the star of this aggregation. Following is a complete summary of the sale: Property of Thomas C.
