TURF NOTES FROM OTHER LANDS L. Hewitt, a much-travelled jockey whos riding experiences were gained in New Zealand, Australia, England, Germany, Austria and Belgium, has at last settled down in his homeland and signed a riding agreement with the Hon. J. D. Ormond, one of the leading owners in New Zealand. The death occurred in America in May of the stallion Locohatchee, vhose son Caiman made the worlds mile record while racing in England, and was subsequently brought to Australia. Caiman, which sired several winners in this state, died at Muswellbrook la 10X1. Sydnee Referee.
