LOLA WINS CLOSE RACE AT HAVANA Interesting- Struggle in Fourth Race Features Days Sport at Oriental Park. Havana, Cuba, December 4. Racing at Oriental Park this afternoon was under ideal conditions. The weather was summerlike and the track exceedingly fast. The closest finish of the day came with the running of the fourth race, in which the Sir Huon filly Lola achieved a nose victory over Pajaroita II. and Money. It was a well run race from start to finish. Moncreif set a fasi pace until the last eighth, when he tired badly from his early efforts. It was anybodys nice until the last few strides, when Lola managed to get her nose in front, with Pajaroita II. second only a head in advance of Money. Rafferty outclassed his opponents in the opening dash and, after opening a big lead, easily held it to the end. This colt has an abundance of speed and appears to be the best youngster here. Dental was the public choice in the second race, but after racing prominently for" three -eighths, quit badly, the winner turning up in Lenschens Pride. Lady Jane Grey proved too speedy for a band of fair platers opposed to her in the third race and scored a cantering victory in easy style. The fifth race brought about the overthrow of the favorite Rhyme, which failed to overhaul the leaders in the final struggle. Beaumont Lady outgamed Dr. Cann and Frank Patterson in a fast closing finish. The longest priced winner of the day scored in the closing dash, when Tito at 10 to 1 won a fast run race. W. A. Carter has taken over Senor Tolons horses and will train them for the balance of the winter meeting here. Jockey A. Collins is due to arrive here tomorrow from Bowie, Maryland.
