TURF NOTES FROM LANDS ABROAD The colt by Xeil Gow IVnisIle. second to My Dear iu the bewhurst Plate, has been named McNeill. Capt. J. D. Cohn has sold Eglamour. the winner of the Madrid Omnium, to M. Jean Lieux. The colt will remain iu Spain. Donoghue will again ride as first jockey to Mr. Fairie next year. It is undecided who will have second claim upon him.. The Alexandria Sporting Club in Egypt has given 0,000 to military and other charities from its racing profits this year. Captive Princess, the winner of last years Irish Oaks and Irish St. Leger, has been turned out of training and goes to the stud next year. There will be no more racing at Saint-Oucn. near Paris, the once favorite suburban course having been sold in its en.irety to an industrial concern. AY. K. Vanderbilt has sold Peter Piper to D. Reiff, the Maisons-Laffitte trainer. The sou of Peter Pan will -be shipped to America shortly. The Xew Derby Stakes and Xew Oaks Stakes for WIS closed for nominations on Tuesday, December I. and will be run at the Newmarket First Extra meeting, fixed for June l. 5. and !. Dark Legend has been sold by Sir William Cooke to go to India. The price, it is reported, is 8.000 guineas, and the purchaser -a well-known Indian prince. The purchase was subject to a veterinary examination and the colt is now on bis leng voyage. One of the features of the past seasons English racing has been the skillful riding of J. II. Martin and Otto Madden, both of whom are well over military age. The former has been engaged as first jockey for Gilpins stable next year, while Madden will ride as a free lance. Thomas II. Dales, M. R. C. V. S.. who has died in Durban, Xatal. aged 49, was at ono time a trainer in England. He was with William Elsey, at Baum-ber, for some years, afterwards taking Sir Robert Jardines ulace, Tupgill Park, Mlddleliam, where he carried on the business of trainer. A qualified veterinary surgeon. Mr. Dales went out. to South Africa in 1901 and did good work ou behalf of various government departments.
