DEFINING ENGLISH RACING SEASON In announcing an enlargnient of the English racing season of 191S. tlie Jockey Club issued the following subsidiary statement: "The stewards of the Jockey Club, in publishing the above list, wish to state that they sub mitted to his Majestys government the claims of all courses on which meetings were held in 19 IK, and that the above fixtures have been allotted with the approval of the War Office. Board of Trade. Ministry of Munitions, ami the Railway Executive. The list is therefore final, and no further applications can be considered. "It is not the intention of the stewards of the Jockey Club to declare existing entries void. Should clerks of courses to which fixtures have not been allotted desire to cancel races already closed, application should be made, to the stewards of the Jockey Club for permission to do so. "Where fixtures have been allotted on dates approximate or corresponding to those meetings for which races have already been closed, it. is an instruction to clerks of courses that such races should, where possible, be included in the program of the meeting."
