KENTUCKY CLAIMING RULE IN EFFECT The Kentucky claiming law was put into effect at the Jefferson Parish track yesterday. It means that claims for horses must be put in fifteen mln-Utcu before the race, instead of fifteen minutes ui or it. as formerly. The horsemen were thoroughly canvassed, in an effort to find which rule they k llfceC best and a majority of them said that they favor the Kentucky system. Under the new rule a horse for which a claim Is put in, runs in the interests and colors of his old owner, trat the claimant assumes all responsibility for anything that nitty happandu to the animal in the race. Evn should t,he horse drop fld, tho claimant must pay for It just the same. In the vent there Is more than no claim, the claimant will draw Just like they do now.
