JOE N0TTER TO RIDE AT FAIR GROUNDS Jockey Joe Xotter, undoubtedly one of the best riders this country has seen in recent years, and who won numerous stakes, including the 1915 Kentucky Derby for Harry Payne Whitney, is spending the winter at Xew Orleans and he said that he may take a few mounts at the Fair Grounds meeting. Xotter lias his wife and baby witli him and is occupying a cottage on the lakeside. He weighs 130 pounds now, but is working hard to reduce to riding weight. In the past few years Xotter has not tried to get below 120 pounds, and seldom does he get that low. The class of horses that he rides for the Whitney stable usually carry 120 pounds or more, and consequently he does not have to worry about low weight. He won the Derby for the Whitney establishment with Regret, the only filly that ever accomplished this feat, and he also won the 5,000 Kentucky Handicap at Douglas Park with Borrow, another of the Whitney cracks.
