NEW RACING COMMISSION PERSONNEL Speculation As to Members to Bo Appointed by Governor for New Term Beginning Next May. Cincinnati, O., December 19. Considerable speculation is being indulged in by Kentucky turfmen regarding the personnel of the new Kentucky Racing Commission. The present commissions term of office expires about May 1 of next year and horsemen are wondering who will be appointed to Kentuckys turf governing body. It is expected that some time in March or April the governor will make his appointments. There is considerable jockeying going on at present and every member or prospective member has his friends hard at work in his interest. The present commission consists of Johnson X. Camden, chairman; J. Hart Talbott, Charles F. Grainger, W. B. Haldeman and Allie Young. Xone of these members has made any efforts to be reappointed. Chairman Camden has been too ill to attend many of the meeting this year and it mav be that he will not consider a reappointment. Xoth-ing is definitely known regarding the plans of the other members. Rumors have it the Thoroughbred Horse Association will make an effort to secure control of the commission. It is said that the association would be satisfied to see any of the following, T. P. Hayes, J .0. Keene, Charles Berryman. Hal Price Headley, Arthur B. Hancock or T. C. McDowell, on the commission. Catesby Woodford, R. L. Baker and T. C. Bradley are others being mentioned. It is expected that the Thoroughbred Association will shortly endorse one or two candidates and work for their appointment. In the meantime, it is safe to assume that the majority of the present commission will succeed themselves.
