4- A I M. L. SCHWARTZ ENJOYS PROFITABLE YEAR WITH j SMALL BUT USEFUL STABLE : The total earnings of 7,S59 for the stable of M. L. Schwartz during the year 1917, as compared with ,235 for 1016, is indicative of the increased strength of the New Yorkers stable, as well as the more valuable money offerings of the various racing associations. In Enfilade, Heredity and Archdale the stable had strong representation and a big portion of its earnings is due to their clever performances. Enfilade, a two-year-old bay filly by Ramrod La Rille, was easily the star of the string. She has victories to her credit in the Rosedale Stakes at Jamaica, the Beldame Handicap at Aqueduct and seconds in the Clover Stakes at Aqueduct and the Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga. Her winnings for the year are ,230. Heredity, a Sain Traditional two-year-old, was another stake winner of the Schwartz stable. Hereditys victory came in the Piping Rock Aspirant Cup race at Piping Rock, June 2, worth ,900 to the winner. His total winnings for the season are ,417. Thistle, a two-year-old, is credited with three firsts, three seconds and one third for a total of ,280 in earnings.
