CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF j W. C. Edwards intimates that he may take a trip to Havana after the holidays. Walter O. Parmer, the Tennessee breeder and owner of Belle Meade Farm, is spending the winter in Naples, Florida. Charles Quinn, who looks after the interests of Frederick Johnsons stable, will leave New York for Hot Springs about the middle of February. Trainer Louis Tauber, in charge of the horses John W. Schorr recently sent to New Orleans, expects to have some of his candidates ready for the races in the near future. Jockey Roscoe Troxler is a recent arrival at New Orleans. He probably will be seen in the saddle here often during the rest of the Jefferson Park meeting and throughout the Fair Grounds meeting. Ed Moon, one of the leading cross-country riders of Australia, was a passenger on a Sydney steamer that arrived in San Francisco a few days ago. Moon expects to accept mounts in this country if he can find anything to do at 135 pounds.
