f DORCAS PROVES A GOOD WINNER FOR THE CLEVELAND STABLE DURING THE RACING OF 1917 j i. G. W. Lebolt, who races under the name of the Cleveland Stable, had a successful season with a small, but select, stable. Five horses carried his colors and their combined winnings was 0,844. Dorcas, a four-year-old bay filly bylldrim Dawte, with total winnings of 1917.sh,000, was by long odds the star of the stable. Her principal achievements came in the Nassau Selling Stakes at Belmont Park and the Howard Selling Stakes at Laurel, when she finished in front of some good racers. Dorcas also started in the Melrose Selling Stakes at Empire City and the Martha Washington Handicap at Laurel, but finished third in botli efforts. Next to Dorcas, Matinee Idol was the biggest winner for the stable. Two firsts, four seconds and three thirds netted the All Gold Matineq.. two-year-old the sum of ,588.
