MATES FOR BRADLEYS BROODMARES Kentucky Breeder to Mate Ten Mares to North Star III. Has Thirty-Two Matrons in Stud. Lexington, Ky., December 22. Col. Edward Riley Bradley hes now a member of Governor A. O. Stanleys staff has thirty-two matrons in his Idle Hour Stock Farm stud for the season of 1918 and has just completed his schedule for their mating. To his newly acquired English staulion North Star III., lie has assigned Badoura, Breathing Snell, Bandello, Benauet, Lady Languish, Love Not, Pres-sanella, Santa Anna, Sweet Alice and Tower of Candles.. To Cunard he will send Bellisario, Eonic, Follies Bergeres, Lady Colonist and Winning Widow. Helmets allotment embraces Bobs Olga, Grail, Killanna, Slay Bird, Sliss Ringlets. Padula and Vaila. To Black Tony will go Almadie, Acutissima, Slacaroon, Slasks and Faces, Slelton Slowbrav, Wayward Lass and Whisk Broom. Bit of a Devil, which is to be mated for the first time, goes to Beach Comber. Stumpy will be returned to Slara-thon and Bed of Roses, now in foal to Helmet, will go to Short Grass. Breathing Snell was not bred in 1917 and Bandello, Winning Widow and Grail are barren. All of the others appear to be in foal, as follows: To Helmet Pressanella, Badoura, Follies Bergeres, Eonic, Killanna, Vaila and Acutissima; to Cunard Love Not, Santa Anna, Tower of Candles, Lady Languish, Lady Colonist, Bobs Olga, Slay Bird, Slasks and Faces, Almadie, Slacaroon and Wayward Lass; to Black Tony Benanet, Sweet Alice, Padula and Slelton Slowbray; to Uncle Bellisario; to Slarathon Sliss Ringlets, and to Ben Brush, AVhisk Broom. The foaling period at Idle Hour will be covered by the months of February, March and April, unless there should be some over-running of dates. The mares first due to foal are Love Not and Eonic on February 20, and the last due is Lady Colonist on April 25. Trainer Cliff Hammon has the coming two-year-olds and other horses in training quarters at the farm and he is well pleased with prospects for 1918. Colonel and Sirs. Bradley are at Chicago to spend the holidays, after which they will go to New Orleans and Palm Beach for the remainder of the winter.
