• ■ TRAINING NOTES FROM BELMONT PARK Horses Beginning to Round Into Form — Papp and Lanius Showing T/p Well in Their Work. New York. April 0. — Work is progressing quite favorable at Belmont Park. Horses are_ beginning to show some sort of racing form, especially those which are lM-ing prepared for the early meetings. The weather was cold this morning and little doing in the shape of fast work. During the past week. Lniiius. G. D. Wideners Ireakness candidate, worked a good mile in 1:88, as ■lid Papp aaar Arrah Go On. The latter pair from the I.oft stable-, may both gi in the Preakness. as Max Hirsch. their trainer, has arranged to move his horses to Pimlico next week. The Mncomher candidate for the Preakness and Kentucky Ik-rby, War Cloud, apm-afs forward in his work. He has lieen training on the main course of late. Sam Hildreth is going slow with the Belmont stable, which includes LncnlMte and Hourless. Hy the looks of things, it is probable few of Mr. Belmonts horses will be seen before the Belmont Park meeting. Joseph E.. Wideners horses ar.- well advanced. Tom Welsh sent the two French-bred lorses Tromp la Morte and faaaja an Bout a half iu 30-.-, recently and both • look well. Naturalist, too. has done well at a half mile. William Karrick is sending Bolster and Poly-ineliau along slowly. Halves in 52 seconds is about their clip at present, but both are fining down for harder work.
