SUN BRIAR TO LEXINGTON ♦ Henry McDaniel to Start Kilmer Colt in the Derby Trial. * Jockey A. Johnson to Bide at the Kentucky Association Meeting — Turf Gossip. ♦ Lexington. Ky.. April 10. — Trainer Henry McDaniel has advised Judge William II. Shelley that lie will send Sun Briar here to run in the Derby trial. William J. Treacy. who returned today from Louisville, says Body Patterson, who is to report at Belmont Park Monday to train the horses of Robert L. Geary, is turning over the horses in his string at Douglas Park to James Everman. Secretary Ken Walker, of the Kentucky Sale* Company, today announced that the date for its annual spring sale of thoroughbreds is May S. The Schuyler Parsons estate has consigned the mares Victoria M. in foal to Ballot. Tranid in foal to Luke Mel. nke and Water Bell in foal to Uncle to this sale. "My French-bred colt Dodger certainly is a real runner." said Robert Shannon today. "I intend to start him first at Louisville." George H. Strate. who has John H. Kosseters racers at Churchill Downs, came over from Louisville this morning and spent the day inspecting his employers broodmares. "I will not race any horses at Lexington." said he. "but jockey Johnson will come here to ride. After the Churchill Downs meeting we will ship east." Jockey Joe Kederis stopped off here today en-route from Louisville to the east, where he is to ride for the Kentucky Stable. Jockeys R. Bolton. Kleeger and Dreyer were among tlie arrivals today. Jockey E. Snnde. under contract to J. L. Paul and K. H. Kane, will be here this week. The Paul and Kane horses are here from Hot Springs. A. B. Stelle has arrived from Cuba with a small string, including Old Ben. Jockey Julius Dursch. under contract to Knebelkamp and Howerton. journeyed on te his home in Illinois to spend a few days. Will Hamilton, another of Starter Dades assistants, joined Jim Osborne here today, but they have not been able, on account of the weather, to do any schooling of two-year-olds. Frank Leigh brought Paul Connelly here for 11. Twiiuau. who bought him at auction. Out of the same sale H. Neusteter bought Mistress Polly for ,000. and he said today: "I believe Ive got the winner of the Ashland Oaks and perhaps the Kentucky Oaks in this filly." The directors of the Kentucky Association this morning had a meeting for the transaction of business incident to the opening of the spring race meeting. *
