LEND INTEREST TO DERBY TRIAL Lexington Racegoers Anxious to See Sun Briar in Action — J. N. Camdens Health Improved. L"xington. Ky.. April 11. — The rcfiort that Henry McDiiniel will bring Sun Briar here to start in the Derby Trial was pleasing news to local turfmen. Sun Briars presence will lend a lot of interest to the Derby Trial, as it will mark his first start over a Kentucky race track, and racegoers in this section arc anxious to sec him in action. Former United States Senator Johnson X. Camden, who has been seriously ill for some time, is able to get aliout now Itotter than in several years. He at tended a meeting of the directors of the Kentucky Association yesterday morning. Senator Camdens horse- this year again will lie trained by .1. C. Milam. Th - program l« ok of the Lexington meeting will lie ready for distribution among the horsemen Friday afternoon. It. L. Baker returned today from a trip to Louisville and he reported that all of the horses wintering at the Iwo track- there are unusually well advanced in I heir training. As was the case last year, every stake run at the Kentucky Association meeting thi- spring will carry with it a valuable trophy in the form of :l loving cup or pie -e of silver plate. These trophies are eagerly sought l.y the horsemen and in many homesteads of prominent turfmen they are regarded as the real show pieces. The "railbirds" who have jn-t gotten in from winter race track- are a bu-y lot right now tryiug to pick out the various two year-olds which have shown more than ordinary si»eed in their work.
