NO RESTRICTIONS ON MEMORIAL DAY In some quarters President Wilsons Memorial Dav nroclamntiou was construed as an apneal to return to the Sunday program of the old Puritan days. We were informed from Washington that it was not the desire of the President to have any change from the general character of the day. He asks us to make Memorial day one of humiliation and prayer, but lie does not ask us to forego the sport and other activities which have grown to to- an integral part of the day. The President wants to leave it to each individuals judgment as to how-he should observe the day, but lie does not demand that we shut our hull parks, athletic fields and theatres and go Into sack cloth ami ashes. Memorial day always has heea om- of banner days in s|M rls. but this year it i- going to outdo every Me rial day of the part. There will be track and ri-ld s|hi|s and ball game- at every camp, tan tonmctit and naval training station. Soldiers ami sailors will take nosscssi f every ball park not used by other team-. It will Ik.- truly a Service day 1 I even iu sport. — t-W lork Sun.
