RENO PROSPECTS ARE ENCOURAGING Plenty cf Horses Will Be Available for Coming Meetings — Special Features Planned. Reno. New. Mav 15.- It looks as if the Reno meetings would lie the most successful ever hoi 1 here. There will be plenty of horses and racegoers from all parts of the Pacific coast will undoubtedly flock here to witness their favorite sport, ihere has lx-en no racing on the coast since the conclusion of the last Reno meeting, with the exception of the short meeting at Del Monte, and the racing public is hungry for Ihe si»ort. The decision of the Business Mens Association to give two meetings is a good one from every stanlix.int. Then there will he racing at Fallon and a meeting at Del Monte in the fall will niak-it still more worth while for owners to ship to Reno for the opening of the season next month. Prospects are that there will lx- 300 horses here by the op.-niug of the first meeting. Enquiries for stables are pouring into the Business Mens Assmiation from all parts. A carload of horses is coming from Boise. Idaho, shipped by E. A. Smith, and which will include Juanit 1 Frederick. Argento and Billy Livingston. George Roman is coming from I.imoii. Colorado, with Finnegan, Smiling Annie, Kersey. I -wis and Boreas. Twelve horses are coming from Hot Springs, a carload from Ij-xington, Kentucky: six from Ks-calante. Itah; five from Bakersfield and fifteen from Clareinore. Oklahoma. Owners shipping from San Diego include: E. p. Newman. R. M. 1 lallenlx-ck. II. Wallhausor. E. I.in-iill. Mrs. ML II. Dawson, Major William Roberts and .1. Cooper. Lctii Allens string of twelve has already arrived from Fallon. Purses for the coming meeting will range from BIBB to »M and there will probably lx- seven races daily. A handicap will lx run every Saturday. July 4 will lx- marked bv the running of the Nevada and California Futuritv. a four and one-half furlongs race for two year old colts and fillies, foaled in either of the states mentioned and the value of which will lx- ,500.
