LATONIA TRACK TO BE AT ITS BEST Superintendent Nolte Working Hard to Have Course .in Tip-Top Condition for Derby. Cincinnati. O.. June 21.— Charley Xolte. the new superintendent of the track at Latoiiia. is exerting himself to have the course in the best possible condition for the running of the Derby. His crew of track workers has been at work night and day since he took charge Tuesday evening, and the results are already apparent. The si|iorb condition of the Douglas Park track this spring, resulting iu the frequent breaking of time records, furnishes the best testimonial of his ability as a track superintendent. General Manager Hachmeister announced that in view of the severe strain which will lie put upon the facilities for handling tlie big crowd expected at the track on Saturday, no complimentary tickets will lx issued for that day. The admission charges will lie .20 for gentlemen, including war tax, and .65 for ladies, including war tax. The list of prospective Derby starters has been reduced by one. H. P. lleadleys promising maiden. Duke of Savoy, has gone wrong in training for the race and is thereby eliminated. Manager Wait.-, one of T. C. McDowells best horses, if not indeed the best in his string this I year, is at work again after a considerable absence from training on account of sickness.
