E. R. BRADLEY SUCCEEDS COL. YOUNG Elected to Board of Directors of the Thoroughbred Horse Association — Details of Meeting. Lexington. Ky.. June 24. — The directors of the Thoroughbred Horse Association, at a meeting yesterday, elected Edward R. Bradley, owner of Idle Hour Stock Farm, to membership on the board of directors to fill the vacancy created by the death of Col. Milton Young. The meeting was fully attended and Mr. Bradleys selection was unanimous. Inder an arrangement with the Directors of Speed for tin- Indiana State Fair. John S. Wallace was employed to be racing secretary and presiding iuilge for running races which are to be held on six davs at Indianapolis, beginning Saturday. August 31. and Messrs. Thomas C-. McDowell. T. P. Hayes and E. R. Bradley were appointed a committee to cmidov a starter for that meetiug. Messrs. Irving H. Wheatcroft, president of the First state Bank of Oklahoma City, Okla.. and Gcacse B. King, director of speed for the Indiana state Fair. Indianapolis. Ind., were admitted to Membership in the association. It wis voted that the Thoroughbred Horse Association will present a stallion to the United State Government Breeding Bureau, and President Arthur !.. Hancock was authorized to apisdnt a committee of three, including himself, to select the st:illioii subject to the Governments approval. Messrs. J. . Kecne and T. C. McDowell were named to serve with President Hancock. It was voted that it is imperative that something must Ik- done to give occupation to those two-vcar-olds that are counted medium in quality ami it was the sense of the meeting that the Kentucky Stat.- Racing Commission should be requested to amend the rule under which two-year-olds raced lielore nril 1 are annually shelved. Dr. James C. Carrick and Messrs. J. 0. Kecne and John S. Barhee were appointed a committee to take up the matter with Senator Johnson N. Camden, chairman of the Kentucky State Racing Commissien. Tin- secretary called the attention of the directors to the fact that a large number of fairs in Iowa and othe western states an- this year announcing running races as an attraction and that this association is assisting them in getting horses of better quality than the usual bush horse to participate in tlios-,- meetings.
