LATONIA TRACK SHOWS IMPROVEMENT Ciciuniti •• J,,ue -*■ — l"e Lat-jnia meeting inavnow lie fairly said to be in full swing. The p-itronai-e to date has been setting new records rteht along attesting to tlie wonderful degree of public interest which is being taken in the sport. The racing during the past few days has been as form ful as could be asked for and of a quality th-it his iK-eti eminently satisfying. The improvement in form, which has marked th.- racing of the past few days, is undoubtedly due in no small eegr-e to the improved condition of the track, which has been brought about by the energetic and well directed efforts of the new track superintendent. Charles Nolte. Th- deep dust with which the track was covered at the opening of the meeting has disapi»eare l tinder the influence of copious sprinkling and the surface of the track has lost to a large extent the cuppiness which many well backed horses were unable to cope with in the oi»ening days of the meeting. A good rain will be of service in bring ing the track to its Inst state, in the opinion of competent judges. Meanwhile it is improving daily under intelligent treatment, and it is already in a satisfactory condition.
