GEORGE STARR PROPERTY OF W. VIAU New York, June 24. — The announcement of an arrangement between Mrs. S. McXaughtoii and Mrs. W. Viaii, involving the ownership of the horse George Starr, was an official error, as it only applied to a contingency in the Preakness Stakes, run at Pimlieo, for which George Starr was an eligible. When Mr. Vinu taught the east from Mrs. Me-Naughton. it was part of the arrangement whereby Sandy MeXaughton took over the Viau stable to train". So confident was McNaughton that George St;:rr Would 1m- a factor in the Preakness, that put of tin- purchasing agreement included a certain pei-eeniage of the winnings of the hor :e ill that fixture. After that race George Stan* Ix-came tin-sole property of Wilfred Viau. without further liability. At no time was Mrs. Viau concerned in George Starr, as she owns but one horse iu the btable, una that is Omar Khayyam.
