FREE USE OF DOUGLAS PARK COURSE Tendered to Soldiers at Camp Taylor to Hold Athletic Events on Independence Day. Cincinnati. O., June 24. — While here Saturday to see the running of the Latonia Derby, Col. Charles B. Norton of Louisville, Governor Stanleys chief of staff, conferred with General Manager John Hachineister of the Douglas Park Jockey Club, in reference to the use of Douglas Park for an athletic meet, to Ik- participated in by the soldiers in training at Camp Zachary Taylor, near Louisville, on Independence day. As a result Manager Hachineister has sent the following letter to Colonel Norton: "The Douglas Park Jockey Club takes pleasure in tendering the free use of its race track and grounds for the soldiers athletic exorcises on July 4. We have been moved to do this by reason of the fact of the close proximity of the grounds to the cantonment and of its large seating capacity. "It is our understanding that the families of the soldiers are to In- invited to attend" the exercises and will be admitted free of charge and that a small admission fee will Im- charged to the public for admission to raise money necessary to defray the actual expenses of the exhibition and that any overplus received will be donated to the Red Cross or other similar erganizatioiis." A
