RACING STATISTICS OF ONE QF THE MOST SUCCESS ¬ FUL MEETINGS EVER HELD AT LATONIA The Latonia Jockey Clubs summer meeting of twentysix days began June 14 and came to an end July 13 during which time 182 races were decided and 2008GO distributed in stakes and purses The daily average distribution amounted to 7725 According to Manager John Hachmeister the meeting just closed was one of the most successful in the history of the Latonia Jockey Club Large crowds were in daily attendance while on Derby day and other special occasions the spacious grounds of Fair Latouia were filled to overflowing The racing was high class in every respect The richly endowed stake features brought together the best horses in the west and the Latonia Derby was responsible for the presence of II P Whitneys great Englishbred colt Johrcii which was shipped from the east with the winning of the big threeyearold race in view and of which as it turned out he was an easy victor The abundance of racing material available accounted for the large fields engaged in the overnight races which on the whole were keenly contested and provided some excellent sport Williams Bros were remarkably successful during the meeting their horses winning twentyone races and 15811 in stakes and purses placing them at the top of the list of winning owners Edward It Bradley was second on the list with 14483 to his credit and E B McLean third with 13933 Follow ¬ ing are the owners who finished inside the money with one or more of their horses Owner OwnerWilliams 1st 2d 3d 1 Amt Williams Bros 21 S 0
