sun beat down on several thousand racegoers who visited the Empire City course to witness the running of a typical Monday card The feature of the day was the Tarrytown Selling Stakes Green Gold captured the event in a runaway style that left little doubt of his superiority under the light weight and with Wesslors perfect guidance Green Gold was uickly sent to the front and easily maintained the lead to the end The battle for second ylace went to Kate Itright after she had engaged in close contest for the greater part of the journey with Nepperhan causing the latter to tire ranidly at the end The wellsupported favorite Klmcndorf performed poorly The course had not quite dried out from Sundays heavy rain and from Elmendorfs early sluggishness it was apparent that he did not favor the Tuckahce Handicap was in the nature of a secondary feature to the stake event and while only three were carded to start it promised to furnish a good contest However Ed Arlingtons St Isidore the public choice proceeded to make a runaway of it quickly racing into a long lead and easily holding his advantage to the end Bon ¬ dage was second but never had a chance to overtake the flying leader Prank Weirs Hendrie seems to have trained off and put up the worse performance he has shown this year yearThe The elimination of Blairgowrie and Yurucari from the opening race left J S Tyrees Sea Pirate and It T Wilsons Minuet to fight it out alone The Tyree youngster had little trouble holding Minuet safe although the latter raced gamely after stumb ¬ ling and nearly falling at the start startAfter After leading to the final eighth in the second race Louise V the outstanding choice tired and was beaten in the last few strides by Midnight Sun Lyke took Louise V to the front with the
