Entries for the 1921 Futurity, to be run at Uelmont Park, which closed today, show increased interest in the event, there being .new nominators and the -old ones are coming out with full strength. Many of the more fashionable breeding establishments art; yet to be heard from, including Mr. H. P. Whitney, who sent word he would have about seventy-five nomina.-tions; Major August Hebnont will put in about forty, and less important establishments from thirty down to a minimum. H. T. Oxnard named thirty-three mares, and Mr. R. T. Wilson twenty. Three of these, Montrosa, Exenesta and Yellow Sea have been mated with his good horse Campfire. Among the new names on the list are J. Fred Adams of the Glenwilde Farm, Catonsville, Md., who has nominated two mares, Lazuli and Peggy L., both mated to Transvaal. Mr. A. A. McQuaid. of Lexington, Ky., is also a new man on the turf as an owner, as is X. Maefarlane of Montreal. It is pleasing to note, that Lieut. Gifford A. Cochran has named thirteen mares for the rich stake and the Xevada Stock Farm nineteen. Mr. Thomas F. Ryan, owner of the Oak Ridge Stable, has named but three mares. Joseph E. Widener sends in six nominations. The complete list of entries will not be obtainable until next week, but it will be interesting to horsemen to read that all the larger stables are represented, which insures patronage of racing in this country, no matter what their European intentions may be.
