LATEST NEWS FROM BREEDING CENTER Mares in Foal to Tracery Arrive at Nursry Stud S. C. Nuckols, Jr., Suffers with Rheumatism. LEXIXGTOX, Ky., January 3. Moneta, by Spearmint .Jubilee, and Royal Coinage, by Minting Royal Marriage, two of Major August Belmonts eight-year-old mares, arrived at the Nursery Stud this week from England. With them was the yearling bay colt by Tracery Moneta. Hoth are believed to be in foal to Tracery. They are expecting at the Nursery seven mares from France, one of the number being Topiary, the dam of Tracery. Harry Rites of Raltiihore, Md., arrived in Lexington today in quest of two-year-olds for racing purposes. Secretary Sam C. Xnckols, Jr.. of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, suffering from rheumatism, lias gone to French Lick Springs, Ind. Joseph M. Madden, who, with his father. John E. Madden, and his brother, Capt. Edward Madden, Is the owner of all the thoroughbreds at Hamburg Place, left today for Princeton University to resume his studies. When he finishes school, he will assume active management of one branch of the big establishnifejJJy. Numerous entries for the Futurity are going forward today from Kentucky.
