McLEAN HORSES ARRIVE AT THE DOWNS LOUISVILLE Ky April 9 Edward Ieal Mc ¬ Leans Kentucky and Latonia Derby eligible Uncle White together with nine other Jiorses belonging to the Cincinnati and Washington newspaper pub ¬ lisher arrived at Churchill Downs from winter quarters at Benning and to all appearances all are in fine condition Trainer John F Schorr reported that Uncle White did not have a days sickness all winter and that he was much gratified over the improvement he has shown since last fall If he continues to improve he will undoubtedly be a starter in the Derby trainer Schorr said Uncle White is a chestnut colt by Uncle Busy Lass and was bred by 11 P Headley Mr McLean bought the colt as a yearling for a good amount of money Last year the colt started six times and won on two occasions His earnings amounted to 1375 1375The The other horses in the McLean string include the old sprinter Leoeliares which upon his arival here never looked better the fouryearold The Porter Bon Jour Sandman II Japhet Banknote and three twoyearolds Bon Jour is the stables candidate for the Kentucky Oaks Harry Lunsford the stables contract rider who has been spending several weeks at his home in Covington reported to trainer Schorr and is now engaged galloping the stables horses
