RAIN HALTS LOUISVILLE TRAINERS LOUISVILLE Ky April 9 Heavy showers early yesterday morning rendered botji Churchill Downs and Douglas Park tracks muddy and in consequence there Was a noticeable letup in training operations This was a distinct disappointment to many train ¬ ers who had planned to set their charges down for some ambitious gallops These will have to bo deferred but not for long as both courses dry out remarkably fast and will be again in splendid con ¬ dition shortly providedno more rain falls fallsWith With the inauguration of the Kentucky spring racing season at the Lexington track but a fort ¬ night away trainers who intend taking part in that meeting are anxious to have their charges in first class racing condition and at the rate they have been going it is safe to assume that all of the horses will be fit when the time arrives for their transfer transferThe The stables that will go from the local tracks to Lexington this spring will outnumber those of former years inasmuch as practically all of the owners have signified their intention of sending all or part of their establishments to the blue grass track Their transfer will begin next Saturday when portions of the stables of F J Kelley and O A Bianchi will go forward These will be shortly followed by the stables of George J Long B J Bninnon Waldeck Stable Pastime Stable Joe Umcnsetter Williams Bros Jefferson Living ¬ ston J W Schorr Jim Everman C E Rowe W F Poison W F Knelxlkamp Tex Foreman J S Ward C 0 Van Meter J L Paul Dan Lehaii R P Brooks and A L Rogers RogersAmong Among the locally trained Kentucky Derby nomi ¬ nees that will make their threeyearold debut at Lexington will be Sennings Park Clcrmont St Ber ¬ nard Linden Major Parke Jago Iwiniwih Pas toureau Texas Special Gerinus Bugle Call Allah Truant ami Byng all of which will be givcn a race or two to test their merits and determine whether they are worthy to clash with the stars that are almost sure to face the barrier ill the Derby
