MUD RUNNERS GIVEN A DAY Oaklawn Track Drenched with Usual Effect on the Racing C Robinsons Good Riding the theFeature Feature of the Afternoon Several Horses Barred HOT SPKINGS Ark April 15 The racing here this afternoon was secondary in interest to jockey C Robinsons riding activities His riding was of supreme importance to the big crowd in attendance which follows his fortunes with an unshaken fervor that spells disaster for the layers with eacli of his successes He again ac ¬ counted for half of the card and his good riding was directly responsible for a pair of the victories He again had six mounts hut on Donna Grafton in the opener lie failed to get a place and tin same occurred with Hagpipe in the fourth race He be ¬ gan his success in the second race when astrido Sister Helene owned by Col W E Applegate which led home a band of twoyearolds to win by a comfortable margin from Klla T with Arbor vitae following In the next race lie had the mount on Frank Monroe and under careful nursing he kept that ordinary performer in the van througout to win from Yermak and Leah Cochran CochranIt It was in the last Rice that he showed his skill when he landed Sophia Gatewood a winner from Parrish on which Johnson had the mount Parrish was probably best but Johnsons timidity held by many to be due to the killing of Frankie Robinson his former chum brought about his de ¬ feat Since the death of Kobinson Johnson has been a much changed youth and immediately after he was advised of the disaster he showed groat grief and it was necessary to secure hinr medical attention A rest for a period would probably do the rider considerable good for the death of his ridingV clminfjsjnffeptlng his riding V JfgnyyrsltirmFwhich developed early this morn ¬ ing caused the track to be drenched and it fur ¬ nished a dull footing for the afternoons racing The continuous departures of the best horses front here caused another featureless offering the cn tire card being of the claiming clause variety but many of the contests were hard fought with fin ishes close enough to suit the most exacting exactingThe The first Kentucky special consisting of eight cars of horses will leave here tomorrow night The consignment will be principally of horses destined for Lexington On next Monday there will be an ¬ other special for those Kentucky bound with Louisville as the principal destination destinationThe The judges this morning put in a busy session and at the close of their deliberations Sayonarni and Thanksgiving were barred from further starting here because of inconsistency II Perkins was fined 50 for abuse of the badge privilege and jockey Burger was suspended for the rest of the meeting for his interference with Ren Levy in tiie ThanksgivingT last race while astride Thanksgiving T F lioruman is slated for a meeting with the judges to explain several matters that they are desirous to know about Hornmaii lias been absenting himself from the track recently on the ound of illness illnessI Salomon Turmoil have acquired Lively by pri ¬ I vate purchase
