WELL KNOWN BOOKMAKER MURDERED MURDEREDST ST LOUIS Mo April 15 Henry Kid Becker of this city was shot and robbed of 1500 in front of his home corner Compton and Russel avenue at 850 last night Becker was rushed to St Anthonys Hospital at Grand and Chippewa street where he died at 3 oclock this morning fol ¬ lowing an operation He was thirtysix years old oldBecker Becker told his wife after the shooting I gave them nil the money I had I begged them not to kill me but they shot me anyway The police be ¬ lieve that robbery was not the motive for the murder The funeral will be on Thursday April 17 at l p m from Arthur Donnellys undertaking parlors
