May 10 It was an ordinary card provided by the Maryland Jockey Club at Iimlico this afternoon but even with the poor fields and a sky that threatened rain almost any minute a big crowd turned out There was a lot of local interest in the Clabangh Memorial in fact not only local but tri tristate state for the Clabangh is one of the oldestablished features of the Maryland Jockey Club that a few years ago was the piece de re ¬ sistance of the spring season but since the club has grown Into so important an institution has been rather dwarfed was on the card The Clabaugli is for twoyearolds the produce of mares in Maryland Virginia and Pennsylvania It was a disappointing field in the matter of numbers but the result disclosed what may be one of the good youngsters of the year in Anniversary n son o Celt Discipline True Anniversary was not iheefT ing much but the manner of his victory and the fact that he won easily in the fastest time of the meeting for the Jour and a half furlongs impressed horsemen Murray was the first to start and lie opened a lead that looked like it would carry him on to the finish Anniversary was after him but it was not until thev were straightened out in the stretch that Rice got Anniversary to going fully in his stride and when he did the struggle was brief and decisive Anniversary took a couple of strides it senied and he was in front of the leader anil he came on to the finish to be eased up and win as his rider pleased Murray had no trouble at all beating Ral Parrs Ireland for spcond place The only other starter Titania running for Samuel Ross
