LOUISVILLES MUDDY FRIDAY Rain Brings Soft Going but the Racing Proves Interesting American Ace Fails to Concede Weight to Linden After Ap ¬ pearing the Winner LOUISVILLE Ky May 10 Rain came along today anil muddied Hie track It was soft splashy mud anil the horses were able to stride through it with considerable freedom The change of con ¬ ditions did not materially affect the patronage which was nil that could be expected on a muddy Friday Sotne good horses were in action and the winner pickers were in fairly good form No stake race was down for decision lint the third and fourth races were for 1500 purses sums worth picking up on any track and were well contested with results not exactly expected 15 It Johnson had not done anything of note this spring lint somehow he was made the favorite and proved good picking by winning the first race without much trouble followed home by Circulate and Senator James It was a band of moderate sprinters sprintersItnby Itnby has been racing well and was backed heartily to win the second race and made no mis ¬ take about pleasing her supporters winning by four good lengths with Sweet Liberty second and Alsace third Martha Luckett had some bad luck in this race nnd ran like a filly capable of winning presently presentlySeveral Several of the late Kentucky Derby eligibles gave lone to the third race and served to make it the racing feature of the afternoon American Ace ha liiotbeen fortunate iu his racing since coming tifKcritucky comingtifKcritucky but had ran good races in all of his attempts So he was backed to oddson and leading by a good margin into the stretch appeared the win ¬ ner but tired suddenly and Linden pased him witli i rush and won going away Mormon ran a good race and finished a game third thirdThe The other races were all well contested and fell in order to Annette Teller Herald Lackawanna and High Low all having their share of backing Jockey backingJockey Warrington was held to blame for the interference suffered by Martha Luckett in the second race and was suspended for five days by the stewards This suspension automatically deprives the rider of any privileges at the track during racing hours for the term of the suspension He can morningII however gallop horses in the morning II Oots and the Arinonia Stable were each fined this morning for their failure to comply with the rule requiring the naming of riders at a specified time timeF F S Ieabody who has ambition to become a breeder lias leased the horse Blind Baggage from E R Bradley and will ship him to his farm at Mays Lake Mich He also secured Busy Alice and King Belle which are intended to be mated with lilind Baggage BaggageE E It Bradley has been advised that Tower of andles dam of Unyberry Candle had foaled a strapping chestnut colt sired by North Star
