HELPED TO FEED CANADA DURING WAR ALGONQUIN PARK Canada June 10 G W Bartlett superintendent of Algonquin Park lias been criticised of late for what was regarded as a slaughter of deer in the park last winter Doubt ¬ less it is news to the States how the fish and game resources of the park were used last winter winterThe The provincial park occupies 4000 square miles and rangers killed between 050 and 700 deer total ¬ ing thirtythree and one half tons of venison which was shipped to Toronto and Hamilton where it was sold to all who eared for it at onehalf the price charged for l eef The deer were shipi ed with the heads on and these with the skins were sold to help pay expenses Two and a half tons of beaver meat snd several tons of mullet was also sold in Toronto
