i REPRESENTATIVE OF A REVIVING LINE I Hilton a Descendant of the First Triple Crown I Winner West Australian and a Good Winner Some years back the line of Melbourne coming down through West Australian Solon and Barcal dine seemed near the point of extinction but Marco and following him Marcovil came to the rescue and restored it to a flourishing condition Marcovil sending one of the best racers of recent years into racing in the unbeaten Hurry On himself expected to shine as a great sire presently The good but not supreme colt Milton belongs to this reviving family As a twoyearold he won two races out of seven starts and was but once unplaced His victories were in the Plantation Plate at the New ¬ market first July meeting and the Criterion Stakes at the Newmarket Houghton meeting He was put in the December sales list and C T Garland thought well enough of him to give the solid price of 26000 for him This year he has won for his new owner the Meldreth Welter Handicap at the Newmarket second spring meeting the Ribblesdale Stakes at Ascot and the Royal Stakes at Newbury but was one of the unplaced ones in Grand Parades Derby Here is his good pedigree
