J LUMSDEN BUYS FUTURE STUD MATRON NEW YORK N Y July 22 Al Rohrback has sold to John Lumsden who recently bought R H McC Potters Pequest Farm the English bay filly Colored Bess by Heliotrope Black Bess by Volo dyovskl the colt which the late William C Whit ¬ ney leased in England with which to win the Epsom Derby and in which as everybody knows he was successful the colt having been trained by the late John Huggins one of the best known and successful of the older generations who went abroad to train in the interest of American owners Hugglns trained both Volodyovski and Star Shoot the winter before the former won the Derby Through her sire Heliotrope she traces back to the great Blacklock strain through St Frusquiu and St Simon
