LIVE TURF GOSSIP FROM SARATOGA E R Thomas to Build Up Another Racing Stabl S C Hildreth Adds Valor to His String StringBY BY EDWARD W COLE COLESARATOGA SARATOGA SPRINGS N Y August 15 E R Thomas was at the track for the first time today Mr Thomas was prominent in turf affairs some years ago when he raced Hermis and other horses trained by the late Alex Shields But one horse Doleful is in his stable at the present time but more will be purchased as soon as Wm Shields his present trainer can buy desirable material materialIt It is quite probable Fasig Tipton will sell out the Cleveland Stable on August 26 The owner has probably decided to retire In the string are Matinee Idol Scoots and Whimsy WhimsySamuel Samuel C Hildreth has added another good horse to his extensive stable After Valor had run in the overnight handicap today he purchased the horse from AVilliam Martin The price paid was a goodly sum but was not made public Valor has run several good races this year and was a well backed horse to beat Cudgel the Ross crack handi ¬ cap horse in todays race
