DOTTAS REST was taken back and saved behind the leaders to tiie last turn, then slipped through on the inside, and finishing gamely under punishment outstayed P. G. KING in the final drive. P. G. KING took the lead at the half, and racing COURCELLES into defeat drew away at the eighth post, but gave Way when challenged. AVISE MAN, away forwardly, showed tiie most speed, raced ARRAAAN into defeat, held On gamely when challenged and outstayed GLEIPNER in the final drive. The latter, after lieing saved In the early running, moved up fast on the stretch turn, but tired slightly in the final strides. CAPT. HODGE lacked early speed, but moved up steadily next to the -inside rail under punishment and passed ARRAAAN in the last eighth. ARRAAAN showed speed, but quit badly after going three-quarters. FAIRY AVANI. under slight restraint in the early running, raced wide througlmut and tired when called on for a final effort. CHIMNEY SWIFT gradually improved her position and was gaining on the leaders at the end. AAAR KISS, shuflled back at the start, saved ground on all turns, and finished .resolutely. ELFIN QUEEN showed the most speed for a half, but quit badly in the stretch. HOMELY began slowly, but gradually improved her position on the inside, saved ground on the stretch turn and, responding when called on. finished with a rush and won going away. CONSTANCY followed the leaders closely and came extremely wide on the stretch turn, but finished gamely under punishment. MISS JEMIMA showed great early speed and raced MASKED DANCER into defeat, then drew clear at the eighth post, but tired in the linal drive. AAEDDING CAKE was hard ridden all the way and showed speed, but tired in the last eighth. MASKED DANCER ran around the others with brilliant speed while rounding the last turn, but quit badly after taking the lead. RICOCHET came fast in the last quarter. TAILOR MAID raced in closest pursuit and, responding gamely to punishment, was gaining in the closing strides. JIM DINNEY was ridden hard in the last quarter and was running fastest of all at the end. SNAPDRAGON II. could never get up and ran a bad race. SANDY REAL was forced extremely wide on the stretch turn, then closed up gamely again on the inside and ran a good race. CAPTAIN HEItSIILER began slowly, but came through fast on the inside and outstayed IRA AVILSON in the closing strides. The latter was much used in racing with the leaders and tired. II1S CHOICE hud a rough race. SHOOT ON was under pressure throughout. PRECIOUS PEARL was shuttled back on the turn out of the backstretch and not persevered with when beaten.
