Won driving; second and third the same. BIFF BANG gradually improved his position and, slipping through next to the inside rail in the last eighth, passed the leader and held on gamely when challenged. AMERICAN SOLDIER began slowly and raced wide all the way, but closed a gap with a rush and was wearing the leader down in the closing strides. SADIE D. showed a good order of speed, but was much used in racing ACID TEST into defeat and tired after taking the lead. MOCK ORANGE tired. ACID TEST quit after setting a fast pace to the stretch. FAIR CHARITY refused to extend herself in the early running and was easedup near the end. SIR AVILLIAM JOHNSON gradually improved his position 011 the outside and finished fast and gamely, but could not overtake the leader. AAATER AAAR ran well and finished resolutely through the last quarter. THOS. F. McMAHON raced wide all the way. DAHINDA retired in the last quarter. FRANK SHANNON and P. G. KING were badly outpaced. AALEItlE WEST set a fast pace and drew away in the stretch, but tired slightly near the end. ABADANE, on the inside while going down the backstretch, came around the leaders in the stretch and, finishing gamely under punishment, would have won in a few more strides. SEDAN followed the leaders closely for the entire race, but was crowded to the inside rail in the stretch drive and in close quarters through the last sixteenth. ST. PURCHASE followed the leader under slight restraint in the early running, moved up gradually on the last turn and, racing into the lead, won easing up. TETLEY, outpaced in the early running, came gamely in the last quarter and outstayed HANNIBAL in the final drive. The latter showed his usual great speed and, setting a fast pace, raced CRYSTAL FORI into defeat in the first half, then drew away while rounding the far turn, but quit badly in the stretch drive. PASTORAL SWAIN, well up for the first mile, tired in the last eighth. CIRRUS ran poorly. CRYSTAL FORD-quit badly. Scratched 13210 Be Frank. US. AFRICAN ARROAV, on the outside in the early running, slipped through on the inside when entering the stretch and outstayed ROSE DOR in the final drive. The latter raced in close pursuit of the leader and made a game etlort when called on. but was tiring at the end. IVRY had no mishaps and .failed when put under punishment. MASKED DANCER rushed into a long lead, but tired when the final drive came. BECK AND CALL ran forwardly all the way, but just lasted long enough to withstand LUNKTTAS challenge. The latter, shutlled back at the start, came wide on the stretch turn, but closed a big gap. OVERCAST ran fairly well.
