RACING AT BLUE BONNETS LABOR DAY Kings Plate and Provincial Nursery to Be Run at Montreal Jockey Clubs Course. MONTREAL, Que., August 30. With but two days remaining before the running of the Kings Plate and Provincial Nursery Stakes at Blue Bonnets on. Monday, the eligibles, with two or three exceptions, were schooled and given their final work-outs this morning. The track was slow, but in good condition, and those which were given the full distance trials made a creditable showing. The two-year-olds now at the track to start in the Nursery were only worked three-eighths of a mile yesterday, but were sent the full five-eighths this morning. Br.vngar and Maladroit left Saratoga last night and arrived at the course this morning. Bryngar will be th outstanding favorite in the Xursery, because of a recent race at Saratoga, when she showed the way for Beaming Beauty and several other promising youngsters. Maladroit, which lias been trained at Saratoga with his stable companion, Mondaine, will be the choice in the Plate and should win in easy fashion on the strength of his recent trials at the Spa. Maladroit is credited with working a mile at Saratoga in 1:427.-., which is faster than any of the Platers have worked at Blue Bonnets. Thi colt won the Xursery a year ago. The best work-out of the horses at the course yesterday was done by Mondaine and Mayante. This pair worked the full Plate distance in 2:1473 with their weights up, and with good riders in the saddle will be hard to beat. Dix Rogers is another that showed a good trial. He ran a mile Friday morning in 1:47 well in hand and will go the distance, as he has already gone a mile and a quarter. All Amiss is another that showed a trial in 2:15, although ho -did- not--have his.rrwblghtrup.- --Stii Hilaire, which will carry the colors of Lieutenant-Colonel A. Hamilton Gault, worked the Plate distance in 2:15 whipped out at the finish. This was looked on as a good trial by trainer Bulcroft, as St. Hilaire is not a work horse. With continued fine weather the track will be fast for the race. The officials have been announced by the club. The stewards will be Colin Campbell, James Car-ruthers and Major Hartland B. MacDougall. Francis Nelson of Toronto will be the presiding judge, Phil McGinnis the starter, Dr. J. W. Symes the paddock judge, Walter C. Ilagar the timer aiid AY. Northey, clerk of the course and scales.
