DEATH OF NEIL GOW IN ENGLAND The English sire Neil Gow, 12. by Marco Clie-lamlrv Goldfinch Illuiiianita, by Rosicrucian, died at Lord Rosebervs Mentmore Stud August 23. His children had won to the date of his death twenty -five races worth 1,033. Neil Gow was a notable nice horse. As a two-year-old he was unplaced in the Woodcote Stakes and was third in the Coventry Stakes at Ascot, but be finished up by winning" tin? National Breeders Produce Stakes at Sandown, the Prince of Wales Stakes at Goodwood, the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster and the Imperial Produce Plate at Kempton. In the last-mentioned race Neil Gow was left at the lHist and conceded Sunningdale and Santa Fina over 100 yards start, and yet won by a head. As a three-year-old lie commenced by winning the Craven Stakes, and beat Lemberg by a short head in the Two Thousand Guineas, but in the Derby lie could get no nearer than fourth to Lemberg, Greenback and Charles OMalley. In the Ellipse Stakes lie ran a dead-heat with Lemberg, and was then s-uddenly relegated to the stud.
